Anubhav Sinha lost his temper
When a reporter asked director Anubhav Sinha about the alleged distortion of facts in the web series, he initially refused to answer. When he was repeatedly asked to talk about this controversy, he got angry. Even when the host was constantly trying to interrupt, the journalist kept asking the director to talk about it. After this, Anubhav angrily replied, ‘Have you seen the series?’ The journalist ignored this question of Anubhav, but he was seen asking the same thing again and again. When the journalist stuck to his questions and did not tell whether he had seen the series or not, Anubhav said, ‘Watch the series. I cannot talk to you, you have not seen the series.’

Naseeruddin Shah became restless then
‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’ stars Vijay Varma, Dia Mirza, Pankaj Kapur, Arvind Swami and Naseeruddin Shah. During the press conference, Naseeruddin Shah revealed that he was deeply ‘disturbed’ by the IC814 flight hijack that took place in Kandahar in 1999. He shared his fears about a possible ‘wave of Islamophobia’ following the incident. He expressed his deep concern and said that the incident has left him with a sense of uneasiness.
‘There was a fear that this could lead to a new wave of Islamophobia’
Describing the incident, he said, ‘I was about 50 years old at the time, in my late 20s, and I was very upset. I feared it might lead to a new wave of Islamophobia, though luckily it didn’t. The whole situation made me feel uncomfortable, even after the crisis was resolved. I can’t say exactly why it did, but I felt the passengers and the pilot had had a really horrible experience, and the resolution didn’t seem like a proper finale.’
Changes in the show after the controversy
After the controversy, changes are being made in the show. Now the real names of the hijackers will be written along with their code names in the show’s disclaimer. Actually, the Hindu names of the terrorists in the web series are actually their code names, ‘Bhola’ and ‘Shankar’. This is also mentioned in the statement of the Home Ministry in the year 2000. In such a situation, keeping in mind the sentiments of the people, both the real names and code names of the terrorists will be mentioned in the disclaimer.
