Mumbai: The number of people investing in mutual funds through Systematic Investment Plan or SIP is continuously increasing. Besides, the monthly inflow through SIP is also increasing. Now look at the last month i.e. March 20224 only. This month the amount invested through SIP reached Rs 19,270 crore. This is the highest level ever.

Amfi released figures

Association of Mutual Funds in India or AMFI released data related to mutual funds yesterday itself. According to this, a record amount has been contributed through SIP in the month of March 2024. Last month, Rs 19,270 crore came from SIP, whereas in February 2024, Rs 19,187 crore came through it. With this, the total amount to be invested through SIP has now reached Rs 2 lakh crore. This shows an increase of 28 percent compared to a year ago.

Investment has decreased in the entire equity mutual fund industry

If we talk about the entire mutual fund industry, investment in equity mutual funds has decreased during the month of March. During the month under review, investment has decreased by 16 percent as compared to a month ago. Now it has reduced to Rs 22,633 crore. According to the data, the trend of increase in net inflows into equity funds continued for the 37th consecutive month i.e. in March.

Big withdrawal in March
According to the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), in the month of March, investors made a huge withdrawal of Rs 1.6 lakh crore from mutual funds. Usually this month people deposit income tax in advance. Earlier in February also, there was a withdrawal of Rs 1.2 lakh crore. There has also been a withdrawal of Rs 1.98 lakh crore from debt mutual funds during March 2024.

Net inflow of Rs 22,633 crore in equity mutual funds
Actually, there has been a huge withdrawal from equity mutual funds during the month of March. But this month there has also been a lot of investment. According to Amfi data, equity-based mutual fund schemes saw net inflows of Rs 22,633 crore in March compared to Rs 26,866 crore in February. This month, net inflows were recorded in all categories of equity schemes except small cap funds.

AUM crosses Rs 53 lakh crore
Due to such huge withdrawals from equity and debt mutual funds last month, the total asset under management or AUM of the mutual fund industry has now come down to Rs 53.4 lakh crore. One month earlier this year i.e. at the end of February 2024, it was Rs 54.54 lakh crore. If we talk about the financial year 2023-24, a growth of 36 percent has been seen in the AUM of all mutual funds.
