These are Apple’s ghost apps

by time news

We think that when we uninstall an application from our iPhone or our iPad disappear forever, Nothing could be further from the truth. Most iOS devices, specifically iPhones, have to deal with calls apps fantasma. They are those that were downloaded and deleted but that reappear on screen when the individual restores the last backup on your iPhone or connect your device to iTunes.

Thus, Apple’s cloud, iCloud, does not completely remove applications even if we remove them from our devices and it keeps some of their files. This is because Apple tries to maintain a backup of the data contained in the apps themselves in case you want to keep them installed on another device iOS connected to your iCloud account.

If you want to completely delete these files so that they do not appear again and so that they do not take up space, we show you how:

The first thing is to remove the app from the device in question. We leave the finger pressed on the icon of the same and we give the X or delete.

After this, we will proceed to remove ghost file:

  1. Click the ‘Settings’ icon on your device. Once inside, click on your profile, identified with your name and/or email.

  2. Select ‘iCloud’ and then select the ‘Manage Storage’ option. Once you click on this last option, your available space in iCloud will appear on the screen.

  3. A list of apps and items will appear with the respective space they occupy in iCloud. Look in that list for the option called ‘Backups’ or ‘Security Copies’.

  4. Once you have clicked you will see a list of all the devices that may be using the app’s backup stored in iCloud. Select the option that says ‘This iPhone’.

  5. A list of apps will appear under the title ‘Choose the data to backup’ and there you should click on ‘See all apps’.

  6. Find the ghost app you want to permanently remove and slide the button so it turns from green to white.

  7. Immediately a pop-up window will appear asking if you want to delete the data backed up from that app in iCloud. Click on ‘Deactivate and remove’ and you’re done.
