Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will be forced to say goodbye in the coming weeks to the title he has been accompanying for the past year, with Yair Lapid serving as caretaker prime minister until the election.

According to the coalition agreement, while Lapid will serve as prime minister, Naftali Bennett was supposed to receive the portfolio, but since the coalition does not have a majority, Bennett’s appointment as minister is impossible.

Currently, there are two offices owned by Bennett: the Ministry of Religious Affairs, from which Matan Kahana retired about a month ago, and the Ministry of Settlement, which was intended for the Jewish home but remains in Bennett’s hands.

According to a report by Amit Segal, in the government, Bennett’s transition will serve as the deputy prime minister and holder of the Iran portfolio. This is in addition to the two bags he, as stated, holds.
