He average price of the fuels has maintained its upward trend this week and has chained its fourth consecutive rise since the beginning of summer, thus reaching highs it had not reached since mid-April at the beginning of August.
Specifically, the average price of gasoline is placed this week in the 1,650 euros per liter, after rising 2.16% compared to seven days ago, to climb to the maximum level since the week of last April 17, according to data from the Oil Bulletin of the European Union. Now, filling an average tank of 55 liters currently costs around 90.7 euros, almost three euros less than the 93.6 euros it cost during the same period in 2022
For his part, the average price of diesel also chains the fourth consecutive week of increases (+2.45%) reaching the 1,501 euros per liter, a level not seen since mid-April. With these prices, filling an average tank of diesel currently costs around 82.5 euros, compared to the 93.1 euros – around 11.5 euros more – that it cost at these heights last year.
This upward spiral in fuel prices takes place in a month likeaugust, when more vehicle journeys by road are expected. In fact, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) estimates more than 49 million trips throughout this month.
