Today is the day of the anniversary 23 years old of the September 11 terrorist attackin which commercial airplanes crashed into the Twin Towers, causing one of the worst attacks in history. The attack remained in the collective memory of the population, not only of the American people, but of millions of people around the world.

‘Fahrenheit 9/11′ (2004)
This documentary has the merit of being the first to address the issue just 3 years after the event, and refers to the book ‘Fahrenheit 451’, where it explains in detail the political relations and interests of President George Bush and the links of Osama Bin Laden in the Middle East. The documentary was directed by Michael Moore and won the Palme d’Or at Cannes for his work.
The Falling Man (2006)
This documentary addresses the work of photojournalism and tells the story of the attack through the best photographs, especially one of the most iconic of the moment, that of the “falling man”.
Zeitgeist (2007)
This documentary directed by Peter Joseph seeks to question the beliefs and principles of modern society. The director’s job is to show the sociopolitical context of both sides of the attack in order to provide a detailed explanation and rethink the viewer’s way of thinking. The feature film makes us reflect a lot about social justice and equality.
Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror (2021)
This documentary is available on Netflix and consists of a one-season miniseries. It boldly tells the story of the origins of the September 11 attacks, from the formation of the terrorist group Al-Qaeda and the biography of Osama Bin Laden (the architect of the attack) and the context that existed in the United States since the 1980s. It also details the country’s global response to the disaster.
The day that changed aviation (2024)
This documentary is considered one of the best made on the subject and tells the story of the air traffic controllers who took on the task of saving about 167 aircraft to safety in Newfoundland from a different perspective. The documentary was made by Nat Geo.
