The last quarter of the year has always been marked in red on the calendars of the large video game companies. Nothing strange, considering that, ahead, there are dates such as Black Friday and Christmas, in which users tend to dig deep into their pockets more easily than during the rest of the year.

After years of drought, in which Sony and Microsoft have had problems putting units of their latest consoles on the shelves, the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, the two companies are preparing to close 2023 with a bang. And Nintendo, a company that is expected to announce the successor to the very successful in the coming months Switchit will not be less.

So that you don’t miss anything, at ABC we have made a small selection with a handful of the most interesting games that will hit stores in the coming months.

We have left aside others that interest us a lot, but that, in the end, are reviews of old titles that the user has already had the opportunity to play years ago, as is the case of ‘Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1‘ (October 20 with availability for PlayStation, Xbox and Switch) or ‘Baten Kaitos 1 & 2 HD Remaster‘(from this September 14 on Switch,

However, among those selected, there are proposals of all kinds. From great interstellar adventures to historical adventures and fun platforms.

‘Starfield’

With ‘Starfield’, which is available from this Wednesday, September 6, Xbox immerses itself, definitively and immediately, in the new generation of consoles. Over the past few years, the Microsoft-owned brand has released a handful of great video games. Their latest Halo and Forza Horizon are some of the best that has hit stores this decade. But these are proposals that, in the end, were still available for the old Xbox One, which has almost a decade of life.

‘Starfield’ is not only exclusive to the Xbox Series – in addition to the computer – it is also the first major exponent to arrive exclusively on Microsoft machines since the ambitious purchase of Bethesda, its developer, was completed. The proposal, role-playing and open world, offers total freedom to the user to develop their character and their own adventure.

The entire action takes place in a future in which planet Earth is no longer habitable, which has forced humans to embark on the conquest of space. At ABC we have already put a good handful of hours into it, and we can say that, on a narrative level, without a doubt, the proposal will be to the taste of lovers of science fiction and movies and series like Star Trek.

‘Marvel’s: Spider-Man 2’

The first edition of this saga starring the famous wall-crawler created by Stan Lee is one of the best things that could (and can) be played on PlayStation consoles. And the same goes for its brief sequel, starring the Afro version of the arachnid, Miles Morales. In this new adventure, the two Spiderman share the limelight in an adventure in which they will face famous villains, such as Venom or Kraven the hunter.

The franchise is as fun as it gets. Not only is it great in terms of narrative, it is also perfectly polished in terms of playability. Even traveling through New York City swinging through cobwebs is entertaining. Possibly, with the exception of the latest God of War, this is the video game that arouses the most interest in us of all those that are going to be released on PS5, a console for which it will be exclusive. You can enjoy it starting next October 20.

‘Forza Motorsport’

One of the best racing sagas no matter how you look at it. Far from the more unreal arcade-type gameplay of Forza Horizon, Motorsport is characterized by its realism and its commitment to simulation. In this edition, which functions as a kind of reboot of the franchise, graphical power is taken for granted, as is fun and speed.

The proposal will arrive on October 10 and will be exclusive to Xbox Series and computer. No Xbox One. Users of Microsoft’s streaming service, Game Pass, will be able to play it for free from day one.

‘Assasins Creed: Mirage’

After a couple of years of rest, the historical adventure saga -one of the most popular in the video game- is back with a new title of its own. On this occasion, the user travels to the Muslim Baghdad of the 9th century AD, where he will control Basin, a member of the order of assassins whom we already had the opportunity to meet in ‘Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’. The franchise has always stood out for its great work of historical recreation and for the freedom of movement it offers the user.

The video game will be available from October 5 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and computer.

‘Super Mario Bros Wonder’

We cannot forget the Nintendo hybrid. During the last few months, the console has received a good handful of titles that, at ABC, we have loved; with special mention for ‘Pikmin 4’ and the recovery of that (already) classic called ‘Red Dead Redemption’.

Within the catalog of names of what is to come to the machine, possibly what we most want to play is ‘Super Mario Bros Wonder’, which will be available from next October 20. Ideal for lovers of classic platforms starring the most famous plumber in video game history.
