These are the side effects of the new booster vaccination

by time news

The invitations for a repeat shot against the coronavirus are trickling in. Those who receive Pfizer or Moderna may experience side effects. But what are those in this new round of vaccinations?

Moderna and Pfizer both have new vaccines targeting the original strain of the coronavirus and its omicron subvariants (including the highly contagious BA.4 and BA.5), which have spread rapidly around the world in recent months.

The side effects are, according to research, largely the same as with previous vaccinations against the coronavirus that can cause the disease Covid-19. These are the most common:

  • headache
  • fatigue
  • pain at the site of the vaccination
  • a fever
  • chills
  • muscle strain
  • joint pain
  • swollen lymph nodes (especially under the armpit of the arm where the injection was placed.)
