How easy is it to install an SSD?

It’s so easy! Completely tool-free case cover removal. In fact, the only screw you need to remove is the screw that holds the SSD slot cover in place. You don’t even give it back when you’re done. Sony has the ease and speed of YouTube video guide.

What if the SSD I purchased does not have a heatsink?

Sony recommends installing a solid-state drive (SSD) with an attached heatsink. If the SSD you buy doesn’t include one, it’s easy to buy one for $10 or so on Amazon and add it yourself. Most of these heatsinks simply attach using an adhesive such as heat tape.
