On Sunday, Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential election campaign. Vice President Kamala Harris is considered the favorite to succeed him – and is receiving a lot of support.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis commented on Instagram: “I wholeheartedly support Joe Biden and his decision to step down and unreservedly support Kamala Harris.” The Vice President’s message was one “of hope and unity” in “times of great national division.”

Musician John Legend also welcomed Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw his candidacy on Instagram and had words of praise for the 81-year-old. He also pledged his support to Kamala Harris should she actually run: “She is ready for the fight and I am ready to support her as best I can.”

Actress Amy Schumer took a similar stance. “All in for Kamala Harris,” she wrote on her Instagram account alongside a photo of the 59-year-old and cheered: “Let’s get the hell going!”

Singer Katy Perry also came forward with a rather clear post. In a video that she published on Instagram, she sings: “It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to live in it.” She is wearing sunglasses and takes a sip from a cocktail glass. “That’s it. That’s the caption,” the musician wrote.

Entertainer Kathy Griffin even went one step further on Platform X: “Let’s make history! Finally,” were her words. In addition, many other prominent personalities such as singer Ariana Grande and “Star Trek” actor George Takei supported Kamala Harris.

It is not yet certain whether Kamala Harris will succeed Joe Biden. In a written statement, however, she expressed her determination: “I am honored to have the President’s support and I intend to earn and win this nomination.” Biden had previously recommended her.
