On November 24, the French state was ordered to pay the sum of 10 million euros for not having sufficiently fought against air pollution. The Council of State noted shortcomings concerning the thresholds for certain pollutants dangerous to health. Despite everything, in France, the situation tends to improve. Pollution levels have fallen significantly in the space of ten years (-30% on average between 2011 and 2021).
