The 44-year-old Norwegian accused of murdering the 32-year-old police officer and injuring his 32-year-old best man, after a fight, in the early hours of Thursday (28/12), in a beer bar in Thessaloniki, was remanded in custody.

According to thesstoday.gr, the perpetrator was remanded in custody with the agreement of the investigator and the prosecutor.

“I don’t remember what happened, I didn’t mean to kill at all”

The 44-year-old accused Norwegian repeated his inability to remember what happened on the fateful night in the beer bar on Katsimidis Street, where he took the life of the 32-year-old policeman with a palm knife and injured his best man, the same age, before the investigating officer to whom he was brought today.

“I don’t remember what happened. I had no intention of killing. I only remember the panic I had and that I received some blows,” the defendant claimed regarding what happened on the night of the murderous attack and added that “unfortunately I cannot change what happened.”

Why was he carrying a knife?

Regarding the “push dagger” type knife he used, he claimed that “I had it because I had been attacked in the past. Since the day I was born I have been living a nightmare and I have been abused. I’ve been attacked for my appearance because I’m different.”

The 44-year-old is charged with the felony charges of manslaughter, committed and attempted, as well as those of illegal gun possession and weapon use.

It is noted that today (12/30) relatives, friends and colleagues said their last “goodbye” to the unfortunate policeman, while on the same day his peer best man was discharged from the hospital where he was treated with an injured leg from the knife he received from the 44-year-old Norwegian. .
