Delin Zapartov, the former chief architect of the municipality of Kardzhali, has been charged with 3 crimes. He was detained in mid-August 2022 for soliciting a bribe. According to the information released at the time, the municipal official demanded a 50,000 euro bribe in order to issue a building permit.
“”Dirty, nasty, vile slander”, said Delin Zapartov during his arrest on August 19.
“The District Prosecutor’s Office-Kardzhali submitted to the District Court-Kardzhali for examination an indictment against an official for three crimes committed by him in the period from January 2019 to February 2022 in Kardjali”, announced the press center of the Appellate Prosecutor’s Office – Plovdiv.
The accusations are about requested and received gifts – sums of money that are not due to him in order to perform official acts in his capacity as an official holding a responsible official position. According to the state prosecution, one of the crimes was also committed through extortion, by means of abuse of his official position.
In addition to the former municipal clerk, another person from Kardzhali who acted as an assistant in committing one of the crimes was handed over to the court.
An injunctive hearing is to be scheduled by the District Court-Kardzhali.
