The deputies of the Legislative Assembly, with 57 votes in favor, extended the #ExceptionRegime, with the aim of continuing the frontal combat against gangs.
This approval becomes the 26th extension of the emergency regime, a legal tool with which the authorities have managed to arrest leaders and common members of the gangs that, for years and throughout history, kept the Salvadoran population in anxiety. .
According to what was stated in the extraordinary plenary session number one, convened by the President of this State Body, Ernesto Castro, the extension of this measure – for 30 more days – is to continue supporting the physical and moral integrity, health and the safety of the inhabitants of this territory.
“I know that the vast majority of Salvadorans want to continue living in peace, in security and in this new reality that together we are building,” said representative Alexia Rivas. “We want a country where entrepreneurs are not afraid to set up their business and where Salvadorans who had to flee due to insecurity can return to their land,” added the parliamentarian.
