The demolition of the “Bulgarian Army” stadium continued with a “subtle operation” to demolish the visor. The process is more like cutting panel by panel. And the goal – not to raise clouds of dust in the Boris garden. Removing the visor itself will take several days.

Precisely because of compliance with the highest environmental requirements, the process of complete dismantling of the old CSKA stadium will last longer, but the club has already planned all future steps, having reached the details of the walls and ceilings inside the new “red ” jewel.

“You saw the initial stage of demolishing the visor with a unique machine for Bulgaria. There are only five in the world, the rest are in Australia, Canada and two in Germany. It can reach a working height of three meters. The main reason for choosing this method of demolition is maximum preservation of the health of the staff and others, as well as protection of the environment”, said Nikolay Nikolov, safety coordinator representing the company carrying out the process.

“The emphasis is on ecology, to keep nature clean. There are trees that are in close proximity to the building. We have done tree protection to keep them whole. The seats are dismantled in advance so that they do not mix with the construction waste. Only one concrete remains. Do we have time for 3 months for the dismantling, which is happening slowly, so that there is minimal air pollution. There are no difficulties and surprises. Almost everything stays here. The main thing that is removed is the reinforced concrete and the waste that comes out of the site. Almost everything is removed from the earth masses. The lighting pylons will be dismantled”, said Eng. Yuksel Karaahmed, chief supervisor of the site.

Danail Dimov, a member of “Sports Properties Bulgarian Army”, revealed that the entire dismantling of the “Army” will cost a little over BGN 1 million. For comparison, a recent state order for the removal of two small buildings was for BGN 3 million.

“We are currently selecting the main builder. We have a ready project. Such a stadium has not been built in the last 40 years in Bulgaria. We have to choose the best offer. There is no option for the stadium to be destroyed and not built a new one. The process is irreversible,” said Daniel Dimov.

“We have operatives every day, but the process is long. We go down to the smallest detail. Details of ceiling, walls, corridors are discussed.

We coordinate everything with various persons, as well as with the management of the club. The main things have been agreed with UEFA. The project is very large and has many parties involved. It is important that we manage to reach an opinion.

Capacity is a sore subject, but we’re taking things for granted. The stadium is in a park environment, there is no way the stadium will be 40,000. We all want it to be big. The capacity will be between 16,000 and 18,000 people,” said the representative of “Sports Properties Bulgarian Army”.

According to the project, the new CSKA stadium will not be just a facility for football matches, the idea is to be a center for various events and entertainment.
