An old and uninhabited house with dilapidated windows on the outskirts of Dupnitsa is surrounded by cameras because of the search for the missing Ivana, “24 Chasa” learned. This is her family’s heirloom property. Traffic around the house is monitored around the clock. The police received reports that a girl with her description had been spotted in the area.
In the days after the schoolgirl’s disappearance, uniformed officers visited the house, but found no trace of Ivana. However, the investigators decided to install cameras that would record 24 hours a day. There is no presence of police or relatives there so as not to scare her. In addition to this house, forensic experts have visited several other properties of her relatives.
A few days ago, the police stopped the search
of Ivana in the vicinity of Dupnitsa. The mayor of the city, Parvan Dangov, suggested that she may have left the country. So far, the only trace of the girl is her jacket found on the E-79 main road near the Dupnitsa tunnels.
Although until recently there was speculation that she was not treated and her illness was underestimated, these days the parents shared that they took her to a psychologist several times.
“We want to urge our child, if he looks at us, listens or reads, to return home, to call us. We love her, we won’t argue with her. We hope she is alive and well. If anyone sees her, please call the police or talk to her. She will not get scared and run away”, urged Ivana Maria and Georgi’s parents on Friday. The girl disappeared on February 22 after leaving school at noon, leaving her phone and purse there. He has been missing ever since.
“The director did not take measures when we told her that Ivana was being harassed. Some time ago
classmates spat in her hair
and she was forced to wash her head in the tap, then get her hair cut,” said mother Maria. Recently, the high school told her that they could move the child to an individual form of education.
“This may also have had an impact on the child’s psyche. She used to be an excellent student, but lately she has spoiled her success. He loved history. He likes listening to music. He used to make tik tok videos. She had no friends, she was not sociable. When you’re smaller, they squish you. It was the same at school,” adds the mother.
She does not know who changed her daughter’s profile picture on Facebook and expects the police officers from “Cybersecurity” in GDBOP to find out. Maria also said that Ivana had disappeared for 2-3 hours before. Her father found her at the station in Blagoevgrad. But she never disappeared for days. Ivana’s teachers, principal and classmates did not look for her parents after February 22. Ivana had money saved, which was given to her on holidays. “They are at home, we did not hide them from her, she knew where they were. She didn’t take them. This tells me that she did not plan to escape”, says the mother. A year and two months ago, little Sashko from Pernik, who has autism, also disappeared. He was discovered after 8 days in Golo Burdo mountain. Together with his father Alexander, the boy now joined the search for Ivana.
“My inner feeling is that she is alive,” Alexander Tsvetanov told “24 Chasa”. “She is either hiding alone or has been kidnapped.” I don’t want to downplay the fact that she may have had mental issues that weren’t dealt with by professionals. The difference between her case and that of my Sasho is that Ivana is most likely running away in order not to be discovered. Sasho wanted to be found, but because of his illness, he does not know how to ask and seek help. I hope that the girl will be found alive and well and I pray that she has not left the territory of Bulgaria. Good luck to her parents.”
