The victims of ETA have shown their concern about the new transfer of the PSOE to Bildu: the mayor of Pamplona. Even so, they do not feel “surprised” by this type of agreement given Pedro Sánchez’s record in recent years, although they also want to express their resounding anger and rejection. In this sense, Paz Prieto, from the Navarra Association of Victims of Terrorism of ETA (ANVITE), accuses Sánchez and María Chivite (leader of the PSN) of being “liars, traitors, unworthy and cowards.” «They do not recognize the true motivation of their policy and try to deceive us. “They are amoral and disloyal,” says Prieto in statements to LA RAZÓN.
Prieto, who is the daughter of Lieutenant Colonel of the Civil Guard José Luis Prieto Gracia, murdered by ETA in 1981, regrets both the substance (the pact with Bildu) and, above all, the forms: she accuses the socialists of agreeing with Arnaldo Otegi “lying” since it has been done after the general elections to avoid losing votes. «They have done it now because, in June, when the municipal governments were formed, they knew that the general elections awaited them and if they awarded the mayoralty to Bildu it would cost them votes, that is why they did not do it then and they do it now by lying, that It is his specialty, saying that the Pamplona City Council had been paralyzed for five years, which is totally uncertain,” says Prieto. “That is the argument that they have been given from Madrid and that they repeat like parrots in Navarra,” she adds.
«Bildu has not changed, it has no need to lie because its whitewashing partner already does: the PSOE and the PSN. The one that has changed is the PSOE-PSN, which has seen that even if it lies, nothing happens, each day it covers up the previous one,” he says. “They have lost what little or no credibility they had and are fleeing forward without a plan,” he adds.
Although he focuses his criticism on the PSN transfers, he also warns that Bildu “has a plan inherited from ETA” and Navarra “is a priority,” since they seek to annex the territory to build “Euskal Herria.”
“But we must continue looking to the future, and this cannot discourage us, quite the opposite: we must mobilize, go out into the streets as much as necessary, recover the unity of the parties,” cries Prieto, just when a demonstration has been called at the doors of Pamplona City Hall this Sunday at 12 noon to protest against the PSN-Bildu pact. “We, the victims of ETA’s terrorism, will always continue fighting and working to ensure that the truth, memory and dignity of our murdered relatives is not tarnished again and that justice is done for all of them,” he declares.
Prieto concludes by lamenting that, for the victims, “laundering ETA and its heirs” is what causes the most “pain.” «Now it is no longer just about whitewashing ETA; Now it is whitewashing the whitewashing that has been carried out here in Navarra during the last legislature. “They have betrayed the memory and respect of the victims of ETA,” he says.
