The Management Board of the State Fund “Agriculture” (the Board of the State Fund for Agriculture) decided to increase from BGN 1,100,000 to BGN 1,400,000 the “de minimis” aid budget to cover the costs of slaughtering, transport and administrative documents in the “Beef” sector “, reported the Fund.

DFZ recalls that in June 2024 a budget of BGN 1,100,000 was approved for de minimis assistance for animal breeders in the “Beef” sector, with the specified amount of support being up to BGN 200 per slaughtered cattle. Taking into account the unfavorable economic conditions, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF) has made an additional analysis of the situation, showing an increase in the costs of specialized transport, in view of the increased requirements for humane treatment when moving animals to the slaughterhouse, labor remunerations, as well as costs for slaughter, and the same are directly related to determining the amount of support. In view of this, it has been decided that the support for one slaughtered animal will be increased to BGN 230.

The purpose of the aid is to help local producers sell their cattle, and the increase in the rate will also have a positive effect on the activities of farms.

Cattle intended for slaughter must have been reared for at least the last 4 months up to the date of slaughter on the farm of the farmer applying for the aid. They must be sold from the farm directly to a slaughterhouse for slaughter, slaughtered in a slaughterhouse or slaughtered in the farmer’s own slaughterhouse/slaughterhouse. It is necessary for the slaughtered animals to be aged from 10 months inclusive, up to the age of 24 months.

The aid is granted for animals slaughtered and sold in the period from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024.

Guidelines for granting the aid are to be drawn up.
