More of 300 taxi drivers They protested this Friday night in the neighborhood of La Barceloneta from Barcelona to ask for more security in the sectorry to give support a colleagueor allegedly attacked in August, sources from Élite Taxi have informed Europa Press.
This alleged attack by a doorman of a local nightclub on a taxi driver occurred after the vehicle broke down in front of the premises and the doorman reproached him for it.
When speaking at the rally, Anget Taxi spokesperson, Munir Hajoui, pointed out that the sector suffers from a security problem: “They are robbing us, stealing cell phones and they are stealing suitcases from customers.”

For this reason, he has reiterated the need to have security cameras in taxis: “It would help us a lot before a trial to identify the problems. We have asked for it actively and passively.”
For his part, the vice president of Elite Taxi, Syed Junaid, has assured that they are “worthy taxi drivers” and that they will not tolerate any aggression towards the group.
