Mayors and representatives of regional administrations will be introduced to the capabilities of the BG-ALERT Early Warning System and how to work with it.
The training will take place on Tuesday (August 20) and continue until Thursday (August 22). So far, 42 applications have been received.
The mayors of Aytos, Berkovitsa, Byala, Bratsigovo, Dragoman, Ivaylovgrad, Kavarna, Karlovo, Kaspichan, Nova Zagora, Razgrad, Sliven, Slovo Pole, Stara Zagora, Tervel, Tutrakan and Chirpan are among those who expressed their desire to participate in the training. The course will also include the regional administration of Kardzhali.
In the last month, there were several occasions when the question was raised: “Who should activate the early warning system in case of danger?”, and the answer was not late and the authority organized training.
Stara Zagora sends two people from its administration to Sofia for the training. Two employees of the neighboring municipality of Chirpan will join the course together with them.
“They should receive basic guidelines on how these texts are composed, as well as what is the mandatory content of each of the messages,” explained Delyan Ivanov from the “Legal Activities, Public Order and Administrative Services” Directorate.
The people who will notify the population in case of danger will also be instructed.
“More than 40 people signed up for the training. They will be familiar with the way the system looks and works,” explained Inspector Georgi Lukarev.
Information is distributed in two steps. First – a person from the local administration writes the message. It is then approved by an officer on duty in the main directorate in Sofia.
“The whole process – with many conditions, of course, can take up to a few minutes, if everyone has done their work in the chain,” said inspector Georgi Lukarev.
If applications are received from those who wish to be trained, the courses will continue after August 22, writes bTV.
