We share with you the dates of the sessions of Book signing at Filgua 2024a great opportunity to meet your favorite author in person. This year’s Guatemala Book Fair comes with several book presentations, activities and of course, many literary works.
Book signing at Filgua 2024
Filgua 2024 brings a varied range of activities for reading lovers, from exhibitors of publishers and bookstores to talks and book presentations with national and international authors. Some of them will have a space for book signingHow cool!
International authors
Boby Craft:The Mexican YouTuber will hold a book signing and talk about the behind-the-scenes process of creating a video on Saturday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m. in the Miguel Ángel Asturias Room.
Mariana Palova: The Mexican writer behind the book series The Nation of the Beasts will have a book signing session and book presentation Bone moon Saturday 6th at 4:00 pm in the Miguel Ángel Asturias Hall.
Monica Lavin: The author will present the book Wild side On Saturday 6th at 6:00 pm in the Miguel Ángel Asturias Hall. There will be a space for book signings.
Cristina Perez: The Argentine journalist will present the book Time to be reborn Saturday 13th at 5:00 pm in the Humberto Ak’abal Hall.
Gaby Perez Islas: The Mexican thanatologist and writer will present her book The death of love Sunday, July 7 at 12:00 in the Miguel Ángel Asturias Hall.
David Pastor Vico: The Seville-based communications ethics expert will present his book It was an idiot’s age Sunday, July 7 at 4:00 p.m. in the Miguel Ángel Asturias Hall.
Eva Muñoz: The Colombian author will present the books Lust y Lust Friday 12th at 8:00 pm in the Miguel Ángel Asturias Hall.
Francisco Perez de Anton: The writer will hold a book signing on Sunday, July 7 at 5:00 p.m. in the Miguel Ángel Asturias Hall.
National authors
Jay Sandoval: known for the work Kim’s Theorywill hold a book signing on Sunday, July 7 at 6:00 p.m. in the Miguel Ángel Asturias Room.
Gloria Hernandez: The author, winner of the 2022 Miguel Ángel Asturias National Literature Prize, will hold a book signing on Saturday, July 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Humberto Ak’abal Room. In addition, she will also participate in the discussion The newest and the oldest to share poetry and memories on Saturday 6th at 3:00 pm in the same room.

These are other authors who will be present at Filgua and will participate in book presentations, discussions or workshops:
Barbara Padilla: The Guatemalan mountaineer will participate in the presentation of the book Giant steps Thursday 11th and Saturday 13th at the Miguel Ángel Asturias Hall.
Miguel Angel Oxlaj: winner of the Poet of the Year 2023 award from the Poetry Festival of the Americas, will participate in the presentation of Jun man oyob´en k´ulutajïk, Unexpected Encounter Friday 12th at 5:00 pm in the Marilena López Room.
Gerald Martin: The British critic, who has translated some of Asturias’ works into English, will participate in the opening conference of the International Conference on Contemporary Central American Literature – Cilcac – on Sunday, July 7 at 9:30 a.m. in the Humberto Ak’abal Hall. He will also participate in the discussion Miguel Angel Asturias and Latin American literature Wednesday 10th at 4:00 pm in the same room.
