The president of the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic (CARD), Miguel Surún Hernández, condemned this Monday the beating inflicted by members of the Dominican Army on lawyer Fausto Taveras in the Mao municipality, Valverde province, after allegedly being confused with a Haitian illegal.
