The fire in the village of Pobit Kamak, which broke out in the late afternoon today, has been brought under control. The fire was extinguished with the assistance of several institutions and the participation of volunteers in extinguishing the fire, reported the municipal administration in Razgrad.
The spread of the fire to the wooded areas near the village was prevented. The difficulties are related to the occurrence of several fires in the same period in the Razgrad region, in addition to the properties in Pobit Kamak, dry grass was also burning in the Villa area near Razgrad – under the “Road Meeting” motel, in the Samuel village of Huma and other settlements, added by the administration quoted by BTA.
Firefighters from the Regional Office “Firefighting and Protection of the Population”-Razgrad, the Fire Department in Zavet and firefighters from Ruse coordinated the actions to extinguish the fire in Pobit Kamak, which destroyed four uninhabited houses and caused serious damage to two inhabited houses. Farmers from Pobit Kamak, Dyankovo and Ostrovo, volunteers from Dyankovo, Kichenitsa and Topchii, as well as the mayors of these settlements personally also joined the extinguishing, the institution said.
On the initiative of the mayor of Razgrad, Dobrin Dobrev, who was also at the scene of the accident, workers from the Municipal Enterprise “Razgradles” were also involved in the fire-fighting activities, and the garbage collection company “Waste Solutions” participated in the rescue work with a water carrier and fire-fighting equipment.
As a result of the fire, six electric poles fell at the same time, in which damage was caused to an official vehicle of the Municipality of Razgrad, which was stopped in the area, the administration also informed.
