Two men were arrested for their alleged participation in the assassination of the Nuevo León congressional lawyer, Ricardo Flores Suarezreported the head of the Secretary of Security, Gerardo Palacios Pámanes.
In an interview, the state official stressed that the suspects were arrested last night in possession of a firearm in the vicinity of the place.

The crime, in which two people were also injured, took place on some soccer fields, in the municipality of San Nicolás, which would presumably be owned by the deceased himself.
“There are two people arrested, but it is preliminary, we cannot yet affirm or deny that they are related, that will depend on the investigations carried out by the State Attorney General’s Office,” he said.
He also stressed that the federal authority will be watching for the Prosecutor’s Office to clarify the case and provide support if necessary: ”We could help if requested,” he mentioned.
He established that for now the detainees are being investigated in relation to the events: “We cannot say that they are linked or rule it out,” he mentioned.
Palacios Pámanes added that it is up to the Prosecutor’s Office to determine the causes of the attack, as well as whether it was a direct attack: “I was never notified that he (the legal officer) or any employee of the State Congress had some kind of threat.” , he concluded.
