Within the past day, a total of 21 drivers were found to have gotten behind the wheel after consuming alcohol – 13 of them drove after consuming alcohol from 0.5 to 1.2 per thousand, eight were driving with more than 1.2 per 1000, three refused testing. This is indicated by the intermediate results of the ordered specialized police operation for compliance with the Law on Road Traffic, published on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
11 drivers were found to be driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, five refused to be tested.
A total of 11,821 motor vehicles were inspected as part of the operation. 13,913 drivers and passengers were checked. 3350 slips and 639 acts for established administrative violations were drawn up.
The focus of the action is the prohibition of driving by drivers who have used alcohol, narcotic substances and/or their analogues, as well as driving of motor vehicles by unlicensed drivers, the Ministry of the Interior recalls.
One person died and 23 were injured in 23 traffic accidents in the country during the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced earlier on its website.
