On this Saturday night, Lali Espósito planned to perform as part of the Chilean Telethon, a televised event in which artistic and entertainment presentations are interspersed while raising funds for charitable purposes. But the singer could not carry out her show.

She herself gave the reason in Instagram stories, because several confusing versions circulated on the networks. Espósito said that, together with her work team, they were “very ready” to go out but that, due to “chaotic situations on live television,” they did not have the necessary minutes to put together the staging.

“Artists always check personal equipment, sound lines, screens, you coordinate all of this in advance. The transmission and the schedule of everything began to be delayed. When we got to the stage, my production team had to check that everything was ready and found that we did not have the necessary minutes to do it,” the popstar revealed.

However, in Intrusos, they talked about the issue and talked about a boycott against the artist for her recent political statements against the candidate Javier Milei and his extremist ideas.

“What happened was vulgar. Among the arguments they gave Lali, they told her that the show had to end its television broadcast. The telethon has been going on for 45 years and I have worked on most of them. I am fully aware that the television broadcast cuts off when the host, Mario Kreutzberger, indicates it. There are telethons that end at two in the morning, others at three because there is respect for the artist who is going to participate,” Mario Solís, a Chilean journalist, who was invited to the program, began by saying.

“In this case, I would dare to talk about a boycott because it is not normal from any point of view that they have unplugged elements when there are still presentations,” he added and Guido Zaffora asked him why the boycott against Lali is due, to to which the journalist responded: “Chile is going through a very delicate political moment, just like Argentina, and Lali has been an artist who has openly expressed her political thoughts.”

Solis also assured that in his country, the vast majority of the media, “if not all of it,” he clarified, are managed by the right. So, when they asked him why they invited her then, Mario highlighted that the artist was one of the most expected of her. “I would dare to say that more than 50% of the public at Quinta Vergara went for Lali. That’s why, really, I think there was a boycott,” she highlighted, sowing doubt.
