Torreón, Coahuila.-Personnel of the General Directorate for the Environment (DGMA)together with the organization Torreón Fauna Rescueworks permanently to carry out and promote the adequate rescue of the fauna silvestre found in the urban area of municipality.
Susana Estens de la Garzaholder of the DGMAannounced that the agency attends to at least five reports a month on the rescue of wildlife, from animals such as chicks of different species of birds to snakes.
He mentioned that most of the calls from citizens are for animals native to the regionwhich are captured, valued and transported to a place where they can be released and relocated to areas according to their species y habitat.
“Correct treatment by a specialist is necessary to preserve the life of the species”he pointed.

He recalled that as part of the actions to improve the proper treatment of animals, training was recently carried out for various municipal agencies, which due to their work could have contact with these species.
Actions are carried out with the organization Torreón Fauna Rescuewhich has an agreement with the Secretary of the State Environment and collaborates with Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA).
