The positive case of dengue was diagnosed at the Chilean-Japanese hospital in Hualañé.

This Sunday, the mayor of Hualañé, Carolina Muñoz, confirmed a case of dengue in the commune of the Maule region.

According to the authority, the patient contracted the disease during a trip abroad.

Through the social networks of the municipality of Hualañé, Carolina Muñoz reported “we have received confirmation of a positive case of dengue diagnosed in the Chilean-Japanese hospital.”

This is an imported case where a neighbor arrived from abroad presenting some symptoms and the corresponding tests were performed at the hospital, confirming the presence of dengue by the Institute of Public Health,” he added.

Along with this, he stated that “We want to give peace of mind to the neighbors since dengue is not transmitted between people and there is no presence in the region of the mosquito that transmits the disease.”

Then, he thanked “the hospital officials who applied the corresponding protocol “That allowed our neighbor to receive treatment in a timely manner.”

“Any additional information we have we will be making known so that all our neighbors are calm,” he concluded.
