The legislator Ana Villagranthe candidate for councilor for the Miguel Hidalgo Raúl Paredesas well as the Councilor for Morena Rolando Cortesfiled a complaint with the Secretariat of the Comptroller General of Mexico City against officials of said district for carrying out acts of proselytism in favor of the re-election campaign of Mauricio Tabe as mayor.

According to the complaint, the group of officials from the Miguel Hidalgo mayor’s office is accused of allegedly participating in proselytizing acts in favor of the current mayor of the district, Mauricio Tabe, who is seeking reelection to his position, thus diverting his duty to attend to the needs and requests of the neighbors.

One of the public servants identified leading campaign events in favor of Tabe is the mayor’s office manager, Cesar Garridoin whose proselytizing acts the participation of more than a dozen public officials has been observed, an attitude that has been repudiated by various political actors and citizen representatives, who have classified it as a clear act of abuse and inequality for the electoral contest.

In this regard, deputy Ana Villagrán and the councilor candidates Rolando Cortés and Raúl Paredes, presented a formal complaint to the capital’s Comptroller General’s Office, demanding an exhaustive investigation into these events, as well as the application of the corresponding measures.

Paredes expressed his concern about the lack of impartiality of public servants in Miguel Hidalgo in favor of the candidate of the PAN, PRI y PRD; while Villagrán criticized the conduct of the officials, indicating that, instead of addressing citizen demands and shortcomings, they are using public and human resources to illegally support a candidate, which shows clear hypocrisy and double standards.

For his part, Cortés said that the Council will follow up on this situation, underlining the importance of preserving the impartiality and correct functioning of the institutions throughout the electoral process.

Given this, they called on citizens so that, if they witness similar acts by public officials, they make the corresponding complaints.
