This morning, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) carried out an operation in coordination with the National Civil Police (PNC) to dismantle a human trafficking network that charged from 13 thousand to more than 16 thousand dollars, for illegally transporting people to the United States.
The victims came from La Libertad, San Miguel and Chalatenango and were taken to the El Poy border to be transported through illegal points abroad.
Raids were carried out in San Juan Opico, La Libertad; Soyapango, San Salvador; San Pedro Perulapán, Cuscatlán; Suchitoto, Cuscatlán; Jutiapa, Cabañas; and Chalatenango.
Where $45,741.60 dollars, 1,500 Mexican pesos, 380 quetzales, 545 lempiras, six vehicles and two motorcycles were seized.
The leader of this structure is Reina Nohemy Pineda Guillén and the rest of the defendants had functions as promoters and guide transporters.
Among the defendants are: Edwin Leones, José Alexander Deras Caravantes, Xiomara Lisseth Rivas de Alas and Santos Manuel Echeverría; All of them will be presented to court in the next few hours.
