The numbers of the voting machines, which will be certified for compliance for the upcoming June 9 European Parliament and National Assembly elections, will be downloaded at the Ministry of Electronic Government tomorrow at 10 a.m., the department announced.
The public drawing will take place in the presence of the Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitar Glavchev. Representatives of the Central Election Commission (CEC), the public council of the CEC, as well as members of the parliamentary parties are invited to attend.
Earlier this month, the department announced that by the end of April, the updating of the methodology for certifying the compliance of the delivered type of technical device for machine voting with the requirements under Art. 213, para. 3 of the Electoral Code and the requirements of the technical specification.
The CEC decided at the local vote on October 29 last year that the voting would be by paper ballots only. The reason for this was the lack of a decision from the Ministry of Electronic Management on the authentication of the machines.
The conformity of the machine voting devices is certified by a decision of the MEU, the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization and the Bulgarian Institute of Metrology.
