With the objective of stimulating historical studies, by granting a credit to the awarded authors for the execution of their research project, the Union of Historians of Cuba summons the UNHIC Research Scholarships 2023for authors from Artemisa, Pinar del Río, Mayabeque, Ciego de Ávila, Las Tunas, Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo.

The territories will evaluate projects dedicated to processes, facts and personalities related to the history of the province and each branch will grant a scholarship every two years; while, at the national level, they will reward those who address edges linked to national or regional history, presented by associates of any affiliate or specialized section.

The organizing committee insists that each associate may only present a single paper and decide which of the two instances to send it to, depending on the scope of the proposed topic.

The Artemisa Branch will receive the projects until October 31, 2023, while the deadline for national scholarships will be September 30, 2023.

The recognition will consist of a financial contribution in the amount of 6000 CUP, divided into two payments, one at the beginning of the scholarship and another when delivering the research result.

The provincial and national secretariats will approve the respective juries for the granting of the Scholarships, which will be made up of three prestigious researchers in the topics addressed by the contestants and their decision will be final.

The jury, made up of prestigious researchers, will issue an unappealable ruling and will then follow up on compliance with the schedule, partial and final results of the projects.

Provincial proposals will be sent by email to [email protected] and national proposals to [email protected]. The results will be announced at the activities for the 42nd anniversary of the founding of UNHIC.
