KYIV. March 13. UNN. The Dzerzhinsky District Court of Kharkiv released from prison a Russian pilot who was convicted of bombing the Kharkiv TV tower for his exchange as a prisoner of war. About this UNN reports with reference to the court decision.

“To release PERSON_4 from serving his sentence by the verdict of the Dzerzhinsky District Court of Kharkiv dated March 2, 2023, in connection with the adoption by the authorized body of a decision to transfer him for exchange as a prisoner of war,” the resolution reads.

The court decided to release the Russian pilot from custody and hand him over to the supervision of representatives of the authorized body responsible for the treatment of prisoners of war – the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, to organize and carry out his exchange as a prisoner of war.

The request for the release of the pilot was submitted by a group of prosecutors of the OGP.

In March, a Russian pilot who bombed the Kharkiv TV tower was sentenced to 12 years behind bars.
