SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, SLP., August 13, 2023.- Fraudulent applications that offer immediate loans and charge up to 800 percent interest, are the fourth most recurring crime, according to the San Luis Potosí Cyber Police.
Through a press release, they urged the people of Potosi to be cautious and not trust the so-called debt mounts, because they are credits that become unpayable and by having access to images of the debtors, those who operate in these crimes are dedicated to displaying them on the Internet. There are even reports that they defame the women who owe them, posting that they are engaged in sex service.
Arturo Ruiz Delgado, head of the institution, recalled that these applications boomed during the pandemic and due to economic needs, people began to request credits through applications or via the Internet.
