They filter videos of meetings between the team of lawyer Miguel del Río and Colonel Dávila, before his death

The Laura Sarabia scandal continues to give people something to talk about, especially in relation to the death of Colonel Óscar Dávila. And it is that just after President Gustavo Petro pointed out that Dávila’s suicide occurred due to pressure from the press, a series of videos of meetings before his death were revealed.

The disclosure of the audiovisual material, which is in the possession of the judicial authorities, was made by the magazine Semana. They recorded the meetings between investigators of the lawyer Miguel Ángel del Río and Colonel Óscar Dávila, former head of Security at Casa de Nariño, hours before his death.

One of the recordings recorded a series of meetings between Del Río investigators and Colonel Dávila, dated June 8, the day before the suicide. In these meetings, according to the aforementioned media, the legal strategy and the cost of the fees that the high uniformed officer would pay would have been defined.

According to the images, these meetings lasted more than three hours and were held at the Hotel La Fontana in Bogotá. After that time, the lawyer Del Río’s departure from that hotel was recorded – around 1:00 in the afternoon that Thursday, from which he left in a van with a briefcase in hand.

In addition, another recording was published that dated June 9, the day Dávila died, in which a lawyer and investigators from Del Río’s firm apparently met with Colonel Dávila in the Chicó neighborhood, north of Bogotá, to receive two payments: one of 30 million pesos and another of 20 million pesos.

The lawyer was upset by the disclosure of the videos and told the Prosecutor’s Office to leak the images to the aforementioned medium. In addition, he assured that these recordings put his safety and that of his employees at risk and accused Semana of leaving “on the air that we led the colonel (Dávila) to suicide (…) They will be denounced,” he said.

“The office of the prosecutor Diana Carolina Acuña, delegated before the Court, leaks confidential information, videos and statements from my investigators to Semana magazine to attack me and put our lives at risk. All the officials behind that will fall, ”said attorney Del Río.
