They hacked the screens of the Rio de Janeiro airport to play porn movies

An unusual event happened this Friday in Brazil, where the screens of one of the most important airports in the country were hacked to play porn movies.

It was at the airfield Santos Dumontin Rio de Janeiro, in which both residents and tourists who were in the place were surprised by the sudden appearance of pornographic images on televisions that usually show advertisements.

The event occurred after 3 p.m. and was quickly commented on social networks after many of the witnesses began to share videos and photos of what was happening.

In the images it was seen that the screens affected by the hack were those that are located as totems throughout the airport, not those where information on flight arrivals and departures is provided.

It was in these that fragments of sexual films began to be reproduced that were changing every few minutes. The beginning of a porn page was also shown in which many explicit thumbnail images were seen.

“Welcome to Aeroporno Santos Dumont”, users began to write on Twitter, showing what was happening.

Others, also jokingly, tweeted: “Looks like a lot of people missed their flights today.”

The inconvenience lasted several minutes. In this sense, given the impossibility of the authorities to solve it quickly, from the airport they made the decision to turn them off completely.

“The monitors in question will remain off in our airport network until the company responsible for them guarantees their safety,” said Infraero, the operator of the Santos Dumont.

It also reported that the screens that showed the porn videos are advertising televisions managed by a private company, for which they do not provide official information.

From the company, they detailed: “Upon becoming aware of the improper publication on one of the advertising monitors of the Santos Dumont Airport, Infraero took the corresponding legal measures, registering a police report and communicating it to the Federal Police,” they reported in a statement.

They added that they also notified the subcontracted company responsible for its management “to take measures regarding the security of the information transmitted on the media totems.”

Finally, in the document they concluded: “We emphasize that the content displayed on the media monitors is liability of advertising companieswhich use their own logical networks and broadcast systems, unrelated to the Infraero flight information system”, they concluded.
