Olot has hired twelve people to support cleaning, living together and job placement activities. Three technicians provide support in the tasks of improving the employability and enhancing the transversal skills of the residents of the Old Core.
The operators ensure the removal of graffiti, rubbish, cleaning of sewers and fountains as well as the control of litter and waste on the public road and the general improvement of the public environment of the Old Core of Olot. The contract is for nine months and one of the team members works as a supervisor. In this way, the hired people support the municipal brigades by carrying out extraordinary cleanings and looking after the maintenance of the city. This is a new edition of the experience programs that allows people who were unemployed, neighbors of the Old Core of Olot, to work, expanding their basic and technical skills and also improving their self-esteem.
On the other hand, and also within the Work in Neighborhoods program, a new edition of the Support in New Information and Communication Technologies (NTIC Support) project has already started in the Job Research Room. As usual, Olot City Council has hired a technician who, until the month of April, attends to users actively looking for work who visit the DinàmiG Open Classroom, providing them with help and technical support. At the same time, and within the same program, continuity has also been given to three people, who work as socio-labor insertion technicians.
