The Office of the Attorney General (FGR) sentenced Juan Pablo Rodríguez Chinchilla and Martín Antonio Guzmán Fuentes, who committed the crime of aggravated murder, to 30 years in prison.

The Attorney General’s Office investigation confirms that the two took advantage of the trust they had in the victim to enter his home and attack him with an object until he was left unconscious.

“After the attack, they poured gasoline on the victim’s body and set it on fire. Rodríguez and Guzmán threw the skeletal remains into a dry well,” the FGR said.

In addition, after committing the crime, the two defendants returned to the man’s house to steal the money he had in the safe, gold articles, cattle and sacks of corn.

“The two criminals were prosecuted and sentenced in absentia, thanks to the amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code,” the FGR said.
