A transitional decree, which will reset the accounts of all people who have reclaimed their homes in areas that had been occupied by gangs, will be approved by deputies during today’s plenary session.

They will also be given a fixed rate of $3.25 for 10 years. The communities benefiting from this forgiveness include La Campanera, Altavista, Distrito Italia, Las Margaritas, Popotlán, San Leonardo and Valle del Sol.

For years, gangs usurped more than 8,000 homes in these places, but with the Territorial Control Plan they were recovered and the Ministry of Housing returned them to their rightful owners.

According to the Autonomous Communities, when the owners arrived home they found late payments and overdue bills ranging from $100, $1,000 and up to $2,000, with ANDA.
