The Secretariat for Development Planning and Federal Competitiveness (Secplan) launched a call for credits for US$ 15 million for agricultural and agri-food federations to participate in the presentation of national projects aimed at strengthening productive and service activities, it was reported. today.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and agricultural organizations have time to register until September 20, Secplan said in a statement.

The first call for the Argentine Republic Post-Emergency Rural Recovery and Development Program was held at the Federation’s headquarters in Rosario, where seven credit tools were available for agricultural and agri-food cooperatives of various scales.

Said event brought together cooperative members from the provinces of Santa Fe, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Misiones, Mendoza, Salta, Entre Ríos and Corrientes.

Aimed at SMEs and organizations linked to the agricultural sector -dedicated to the sweet citrus, olive, dried fruit, legumes, forestry, dairy and garlic chains-, the Program has financing tools for the recovery of critical capacities and assets, and for the incorporation of technology.

The purpose of this call is to support the reconstruction and consolidation of productive agricultural, agro-industrial or service activities that generate income and employment for the population of rural and semi-rural areas; the incorporation of technologies with a potential impact on production systems, product traceability and marketing, through partial financing of fixed capital investments with credit lines from Banco Credicoop and the possibility of accessing guarantees from the Argentine Guarantee Fund (Fogar).

Among the assets to be financed, infrastructure, machinery, productive and commercial equipment stand out; the acquisition of hardware and software for management and production, and other digital innovation projects that generate an impact on greater diversity and quality in primary production in improving marketing.

Present were the Undersecretary of Federal Development Management, Pablo Sívori; the undersecretary of Food, Bioeconomy and Regional Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Luis Contigiani; the representatives of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Andrés Mercogliano, team leader of the Litoral Region, and Marcelo Borga, business officer of the entity; and for the cooperative sector, Juan Manuel Rossi, president of the Federation of Federated Cooperatives.

The evaluation and technical approval of the projects will be carried out by a Credit Financing Evaluation Committee, made up of managers and technicians from the Department of Sectoral and Special Programs and Projects, Secplan, the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), the Institute National Association of Associations and Social Economy (Inaes), and leaders of the cooperative movement and the private sector.
