Two project workers Maya Trends were deprived of their freedom in Playa del Carmen and, later, abandoned with multiple injuries in an area near the delegation Alfredo V. Bonfil of Cancun, Quintana Roo.
The incident was reported this Monday afternoon, when motorists found the men lying on the avenue Rogelio of Compostela, near the Huayucán Avenue.
According to preliminary reports, the two young men, who work as bricklayers at the construction site railway project, were raised in Beach of the Carmen and taken to a house, where they were brutally beaten with boards.
After being attacked, they were put into a van and abandoned in a green area of Cancun. Local authorities received the emergency report through the 911 number, and at first suspected that it could be a double homicide.
However, upon arriving at the place, the municipal police confirmed that the men, although severely beaten, were alive.
The Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office is already investigating the case, and although there are no official details yet, it is speculated that the incident could be related to drug dealing activities.
