An Albanian headed the new structure

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia and Turkey founded a Balkan weightlifting federation. However, a representative of Bulgaria did not participate in the congress for the beginning of the new organization, which was in Gorza, Albania.

In reality, only us and the Greeks were absent from our region, and these are the two strongest countries in the history of this sport. Everyone was invited, but probably because of the problems in Bulgaria no one was sent.

The Albanian Elez Gyoza was elected president of the new regional organization. Nedim Masic from Bosnia is the Secretary General. The vice president is the Turkish Talan Unlu. The board includes Irena Mitrovska from North Macedonia, Damian Tsancek from Slovenia and Amar Music from Croatia.

Guests at the congress were the president of the world weightlifting federation, Mohamed Djalud, Antonio Confliti, who heads the European, the head of the Albanian Olympic Committee, Fidel Ili. Or is one of the sponsors of the local federation.

At the moment, the general meeting of the home federation is more important in our country, which is scheduled for November 6 in the Sports Palace. The current boss Anton Kodjabashev and our world champion Stefan Botev will probably fight for the post of president.

This sport is currently in an incredible financial crisis due to the debts accumulated over the years. Kodjabashev even filed a petition with the court for bankruptcy of the plant, because he cannot cope with the chaos.

The Ministry of Sports helps the participation of our athletes in international starts through their clubs, because the accounts of the headquarters are blocked by the NRA.
