For an entire month, the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center becomes the scene of various activities, in commemoration of the anniversary of its foundation. What a chilero!
Call for the June 2025 Festival
He June Festival 2025 opened the call for individuals, producers, artistic institutions, and both public and private entities that wish to be part of this important cultural event in Guatemala. This festival is held annually in commemoration of the anniversary of the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Centerproviding a platform for artists to share their art with the Guatemalan public.
This event offers a diversity of activities ranging from film screenings to theater, dance, concerts, opera and recitals. With this call, the opportunity opens for those who have an artistic proposal to join the festival programming. It’s time to share your art!
Application process
Those interested in participating must follow a formal registration process. Those producers external to the Ministry of Culture and Sports can present their proposals digitally through the Ministry’s Agile Window, on the online platform available at or submit their request physically at the administrative offices of the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center, located at 24 Calle 3-81, Zone 1 of Guatemala City.
Reception of applications closes on November 15 at 5:00 p.m. Once the call is finished, these will be evaluated by a Technical Programming Board. Proposals submitted within the deadline will have priority, while those arriving outside of this deadline will be subject to space availability and additional evaluation of the table.
Once the request is approved, the procedures indicated by the Programming and Contracts Unit of the Cultural Center must be complied with. For the selection of proposals, the quality, budget and objective of the event will be taken into account. The selected activities must be aligned with the objectives of the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center and the guidelines of the General Directorate of the Arts.
Documentation for physical requests
If you decide to submit your application physically, you must submit it in a blue clip-on folder, clearly labeled “June Festival 2025.” Required documentation includes:
- Name of the producer
- Legal representative
- Name of the show or event
- Synopsis of the show or event
- Cast information
- Requested space
- Dates and start and end times of the event
- Name of the work, author and director
- Ticket price
- Technical rider
- A video of a maximum of three minutes with a significant fragment of the work, which must be presented on CD or USB.
- High definition photographs for promotion, either on USB or download link
The production project must be directed to Ms. Luisa Fernanda González Pérez, director of the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center, in the offices located at 24 Calle 3-81, Zone 1, Guatemala City.
