This morning of Thursday, April 20, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) ordered the search of two homes belonging to Hugo Eduardo Villalta Monterrosa, who is accused of the crime of fraud.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, Villalta offered false services from a travel agency and immigration advice to obtain a US visa.
“According to the investigations, Villalta charged for carrying out procedures at the embassy, handed out false receipts and appointments for the alleged interviews. The victims paid from $225 dollars for the alleged services provided by the defendant,” reported the FGR.
The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the raids were carried out in the Escalón neighborhood and José Simeón Cañas Urbanization in San Salvador.
In addition, he reported that the defendant is already in custody and, so far, at least 5 victims have been affected by Villalta.
