With the participation of runners of all ages, who joined forces for the right struggle of the people of Palestine, the “Road race – Life race – Run for Palestine”, organized on Sunday by the Labor Center of Ioannina, took place.
At the conclusion of the race, three awards were presented. The winners of the children’s race were three primary school students, Kalia, Daphni and Magdaleni. In the women’s road race, Beata Mazukevic from Poland, Katerina Goula and Areti Angeli emerged winners. In the men’s road race, the winners were Petros Lolis, athlete of EKA Dodoni, Deba Amandou from Gambia and marathoner Kostas Houvardas.
The organizers awarded the winners, as a medal, Palestinian headscarves, flags of the Palestinian people and commemorative awards. At the conclusion of the event, the president of the Labor Center of Ioannina, Nikos Exarchos, underlined that the success of the event confirms the need to establish similar initiatives in the future.
