The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) of Argentina reported that with Javier Milei in the Presidency, 5.5 million people have fallen into poverty, a situation that mainly affects children with a 66% of minors.

According to the latest figures from Indec, the poverty in Argentina During the first semester of Javier Milei, from January to June, 2024 it rose to 52.9% of the total population.

While people experiencing homelessness rose to 18.1%.

The agency explained that poverty rose 11.2 points compared to that registered during the second half of 2023, when it reached 41.7% of Argentines.

Meanwhile, compared to the first half of 2023, the increase was 12.8 percent.

The 52.9 percent of the population in poverty in the first semester of Milei is the highest level reached since the first semester of 2003, when 54% of Argentinians were reported to be poor.
