This Thursday the disappearance of the municipal president of San José Independencia, Oaxaca, Agar Cancino Gómez and his husband, after having gone to the state capital for a meeting with Karina Baronholder of Executive Secretariat of the State Public Security System.
The Oaxaca Prosecutor’s Office implemented search and specialized investigation protocols following the mayor’s complaint of non-location.

This meeting with the official was confirmed in a publication that the councilor circulated on the official Facebook page of the town of San José Independencia whose objective was to coordinate security actions for the community.
Through a statement, the Oaxaca Prosecutor’s Office reported that they are carrying out specialized investigations after receiving the complaint.
Initial investigations indicate that the couple was last seen on the morning of April 17, 2024when they left Loma Bonitaaboard a car, heading to San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec.

Since the Prosecutor’s Office received the complaint, they began the corresponding investigations through the regional deputy prosecutor’s office of the Papaloapan Basinfor which an investigation was sent to different specialized areas for the search, location and presentation of the victims.
