Doctors from the Hermanos Ameijeiras Clinical Surgical Hospital recently reported on the situation of those affected by the fire that recently occurred in Havana Bay.

According to the authorities’ report, six of the eight workers injured in the incident that occurred during welding work in a pond have been treated.

Of these patients, three have already been discharged. However, three others, of Turkish origin, remain hospitalized and face serious complications, according to the hospital director, Miguel Hernán Estévez del Toro.

It turned out that one of the patients is in serious condition, with burns affecting 20% ​​of his body surface.

The other two, in more serious conditions, have burns that cover between 37% and 40%, some of the hypodermic type.

In that sense, Estévez del Toro assured that the treatment protocols for burn patients are being strictly applied, which includes careful control of hydration and specific measures to prevent infections.

For his part, Dr. Fernando Trujillo Sánchez, national director of Hospital Services of the Ministry of Public Health, highlighted that the five injured patients discharged are progressing favorably and are receiving follow-up.

Meanwhile, a multidisciplinary team of specialists is responsible for supposedly ensuring adequate care adapted to each patient’s wounds.

It should be remembered that it was last week when this fire was reported in Havana, and according to the vice head of the Economic Department of the Central Committee of the PCC, Jair Morales Rodríguez, it arose in a floating power plant that is not used for electricity generation, but rather It is used as “shelter and logistics” for the Turkish company Karen.
