Last Friday, Liliana Asís, former director of the Córdoba Maternity and Neonatal Hospital, was arrested by order of prosecutor Raúl Garzón. To her was added the crime of aggravated concealment to the accusation that already weighed against her for the five deaths of newborn babies.
His defense lawyer, Franco Vitozzi, requested house arrest since Assisi is 74 years old and, when he is over 70, the benefit corresponds to him.
Prosecutor Garzón has not yet responded to this request. It should be remembered that the doctor is staying in the Bouwer prison.
Carlos Nayi, representative of the complaint, told Radio Universidad that it was established “that she hindered the investigation, that she complicated the path to the truth.”
In addition, he affirmed that “in no way do the arrests that must be verified in the case end in Liliana Asís.”
