Avoid falling into the hands of crime! Here we tell you which are these apps that are even hosted in the Play Store.

The Superintendency of Banking and Insurance (SBS) issued a warning about the proliferation of applications that offer loans without requirements and with immediate disbursements from the year 2022. These applications, which have emerged in large numbers, access not only the user’s financial information, but also their contact list, as well as your photo and video gallery. Here we tell you which ones.

The worrying thing is that, according to the SBS, these applications use this information maliciously to carry out extortion in case of non-payment. The perpetrators directly threaten the user, telling him that if he does not pay the loan, they will tell their contacts that he is a defaulter and a fraudster. In addition, they make montages with photos and videos to attribute defamatory behavior to him.

What to do if you downloaded one of these fraudulent apps?

Informal loan applications offer loans ranging from S/ 1,000 to S/ 5,000. However, they deposit less than agreed and apply high payment rates. Given this, the head of the Robbery Investigation Division of the Peruvian National Police (PNP), Colonel Marco Conde Cuéllar, recommended that people not download these applications, even out of curiosity.

In statements to a television outlet, he also said that the best way to confront this fraudulent business scheme, which has been imported from Mexico, is to approach a police station if you downloaded the application and requested the loan, and file a complaint.
